KEMONT will invest a total of some $300,000,000 in the wind farm project, of which $20 to $35 million will be spent directly in the region.  Approximately $250,000 will be paid out annually to the municipalities over twenty years, for a total of about $5 million.

Landowners who have granted options for the installation of wind turbines on their property will share more than $600,000 annually, for twenty years.

Construction of the Montérégie Wind Farm Project will also generate other local benefits.  Although those benefits are difficult to estimate precisely, the project will have a positive impact on the local economy:  hotels and motels in the region, restaurants, convenience stores, gas stations, etc.
